The new year was celebrated by these nine proud students, and we would like to share that with you.
They have fulfilled the good intentions they made in 2022 to work hard and successfully complete the sewing course. These young ladies wanted to share their joy with the board, but also with us, because they are on their way and one step closer to a bright future, and you are part of that!
In Masulita, the new year was kicked off in a “delicious” way with delicious homemade cake.

When we were asked if Koinonia would like to provide refreshments for Trinity’s Christmas performance, we jumped at the chance, not knowing what to expect. We were allowed to use the proceeds for the children’s project in Uganda, which was more than enough motivation!
Purchases were made and many people with a heart for our children baked delicious cakes to sell, all for the benefit of the children’s project.
It was a great success and definitely worth repeating; it was a stream of blessings over the thirsty land of Uganda.
Thanks to Philadelphia for opening this door for us, Trinity, and everyone who contributed in one way or another to the success of this campaign.

What is the current status of the construction project in Kabale, and why has there been such a long silence?
Due to the busy schedule of all the work going on, we had to skip a few messages so we could focus on the work. So now, finally, a brief report on an immensely important moment: the house in Kabale has become a reality! All the dreams, visions, plans, and subsequent work have led to the completion of phases 1 and 2 of the house in Kabale, an important part of the new refuge that will provide a warm home for ‘lost’ street children.
A few more photos of the various construction phases since the last post.

Our children in Kabale already feel completely at home in the brand-new house.

What exactly do these phases entail?
The boys’ dormitory – sanitary facilities – kitchen and multipurpose room, as well as a separate room with sleeping accommodation for visitors. The latter will mainly be used for teachers on short assignments and to accommodate visitors from the mission, as it is a great added value within the project to be able to be present at every part of the day. The other advantage is that there are no longer any costs associated with external paid overnight stays.
The completion of these first phases is truly remarkable!
It was no easy task to continue construction through to completion as it stands today.
Many obstacles got in the way and tried to slow down or even stop the work. Unexpected but necessary work with additional costs arose, and on top of that, there were sharp price increases for materials beyond what we had calculated and had to deal with. That is not easy, especially when the crisis is looming all around us like a belt that tightens itself.
As in a family, when financial priorities need to be set, we had to count every penny and act as very good and meticulous managers of our money. Both the big and small things were part of the solution.
All the little things that were given made one big thing, so do not neglect or despise the “little” things, and know that they too contribute to the good in every matter!
To everyone, a huge thank you for giving in small and large ways, for your sympathy, prayers, and hope!
