Nooit eerder hebben we zoveel waardering gekregen als deze keer<\/strong>. De ouders op een van de twee plaatsen waar we tijdens de laatste missiereis waren, deze groep in Napak, wachtten urenlang terwijl we de andere kinderen bezochten. Ze dansten en juichten toen we aankwamen. Toen ik uit de auto stapte, tilden de vrouwen<\/strong> me letterlijk op<\/strong> en brachten me naar het klaslokaal waar de kinderen waren. Ze zijn iedereen die hen tijdens de lockdown met voedsel en andere zorg heeft ondersteund zo dankbaar, dat is duidelijk te merken!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De lokale CDO (community development officer) die ons naar elk gebied begeleidde dat we bezochten, vertelde ons dat de steun van Koinonia aan de kinderen en hun families de enige is die niet alleen is begonnen, maar ook is blijven bestaan ondanks alle moeilijkheden<\/strong> die Covid-19 met zich meebracht. Het is echt de enige organisatie die tijdens de lockdown hulp bleef bieden in de hele regio. Zoals deze man het uitdrukte, heeft het letterlijk levens gered en hele gezinnen behoed voor een leven op straat in Kampala, waar ze, zoals velen, in erbarmelijke omstandigheden zouden moeten zien te overleven of zelfs zouden kunnen sterven door ontberingen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
